Information
Azarga is a prescription eye drop medication primarily used to lower high pressure in the eye, a condition known as intraocular pressure (IOP), which is commonly associated with glaucoma and ocular hypertension. It is a combination drug that contains two active ingredients: brinzolamide and timolol. Brinzolamide belongs to a class of medications called carbonic anhydrase inhibitors, which work by decreasing the production of fluid within the eye, while timolol is a beta-blocker that further reduces pressure inside the eye by decreasing the amount of fluid that drains from the eye. Azarga is typically prescribed when a single medication does not adequately control the intraocular pressure. As with any medication, it is important to use Azarga under the guidance of a healthcare professional, who can provide information on the correct usage and potential side effects.
