Faverin, known generically as fluvoxamine, is a medication primarily used in the treatment of major depressive disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). It belongs to the class of drugs known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), which work by increasing the levels of serotonin, a neurotransmitter associated with mood regulation, in the brain. This helps to improve symptoms of depression and anxiety by enhancing the communication between nerve cells.
