Information
FORSTEO COLTER, commonly known simply as FORSTEO, is a prescription medication primarily used in the treatment of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women and men at high risk of fractures. Its active ingredient, teriparatide, is a recombinant form of parathyroid hormone, which works by stimulating bone formation, increasing bone mineral density, and improving bone strength. This, in turn, helps to significantly reduce the risk of spinal and hip fractures. FORSTEO is administered through daily subcutaneous injections, making it a treatment option for individuals who have not responded to or cannot take other osteoporosis medications. However, it is important for patients to be aware of potential side effects and to discuss these, along with their medical history, with their healthcare provider before starting treatment with FORSTEO.
