Information
INVANZ, with its active ingredient ertapenem, is a broad-spectrum, injectable antibiotic belonging to the carbapenem class. It is designed to combat a wide range of bacterial infections, including those that are difficult to treat due to resistance to other antibiotics. INVANZ works by interfering with the bacteria's cell wall synthesis, ultimately leading to the death of the bacteria. It is commonly used in the treatment of complicated infections in the skin, abdomen, and urinary tract, as well as pneumonia, and is also employed as a preventive measure against infections in certain surgical procedures. Given its potent antibacterial activity, INVANZ is often reserved for cases where other antibiotics are ineffective or not suitable.
