Information
Kliofem is a hormone replacement therapy (HRT) medication primarily prescribed to women undergoing menopause or postmenopausal symptoms. It contains two active ingredients: estradiol (a form of estrogen) and norethisterone acetate (a form of progestogen). Estradiol works by replacing the estrogen that the body no longer produces after menopause, helping to alleviate symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, and mood swings. Norethisterone acetate is added to protect the uterus lining from the potential harmful effects of estrogen-alone therapy, reducing the risk of endometrial hyperplasia and cancer. Kliofem is typically used in women who have not had a hysterectomy and is taken in a continuous regimen, meaning that it is taken every day without a break.
