Luveris is a medication that contains lutropin alfa, a recombinant form of the luteinizing hormone (LH), which is naturally produced by the pituitary gland. It is used in combination with another hormone called follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) to stimulate the ovaries in women who do not produce enough LH and FSH for ovulation to occur. Luveris is often used in assisted reproductive technologies (ART) such as in vitro fertilization (IVF) to help women with specific hormonal deficiencies conceive.
