Information
Medabon is a combination medication used for the medical termination of intrauterine pregnancy up to 63 days (9 weeks) of gestation. It consists of two active ingredients: Mifepristone and Misoprostol. Mifepristone acts as an antiprogestogen, blocking the hormone progesterone, which is necessary for pregnancy to continue. Following the administration of Mifepristone, Misoprostol is taken, usually 24 to 48 hours later. Misoprostol causes the uterus to contract and expel the pregnancy. This combination is known for its high efficacy and is a non-invasive option for early pregnancy termination. Medabon is used under the guidance of healthcare professionals to ensure safety and to manage any side effects or complications that may arise during the process.
