Information
Remsima is a medication used in the treatment of various autoimmune diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, and psoriasis. It is a biosimilar to the original biologic medication, infliximab, which means it is highly similar to infliximab in terms of safety, purity, and potency but is typically offered at a lower cost. Remsima works by targeting and neutralizing tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha), a substance in the body that causes inflammation and is involved in the autoimmune response. By doing so, it helps to reduce inflammation, alleviate symptoms, and slow the progression of the diseases it is used to treat. Remsima is administered through intravenous infusion, and its use should be supervised by healthcare professionals experienced in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions for which it is indicated.
